Dharasana Satyagraha

Dharasana Satyagraha was a protest against the British salt tax in May 1930.

Gandhiji chose a non-violent raid of the Dharasana Salt Works in Gujarat as the next protest against British rule.

The Dharasana Satyagraha was led by Abbas Tyabji and Gandhi’s wife Kasturba.

Both were arrested before reaching Dharasana and sentenced to three months in prison.

After their arrests, the peaceful agitation continued under the leadership of Sarojini Naidu and Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.
